Two American Family Journeys

Family histories can be difficult to navigate without some kind of reference point. Most family trees start with a single person as a focal point, using them to define parents, grand-parents and children. Since this history is meant to serve all members of the family, I have avoided this tradition. Instead, I have organized these pages into individuals (who never had children) and families (defined broadly) and grouped them roughly by date.

As a reader new to the family history, you may feel, understandably, a bit lost. With a little luck, you may recognize parents or grandparents listed here, and through them, discover your relationship to ancestors and cousins. Searching on your name, or that of a relative’s, may also help begin your journey.

Seebart Family

Martin Ziebarth and Beata Matai are the oldest verifiable ancestors for the Seebart family. They lived their lives in the vicinity of Klempitz, in what was then Prussia and is now Poland

Holston Family

The Holston line traces back to William Holston Sr., who married in Delaware during the late 1700’s and moved his family to Virginia shortly before the turn of the 19th century.
